Privacy notice
This notice describes the intended owner-only backup configuration and the separate public information website. Backup features operate only when configured and authorized by the owner.
Purpose and operator
The account owner operates the utility for private backup administration. It is not offered as a service for other people's Google accounts. The owner selects and authorizes the relevant accounts.
Information the utility handles
The utility handles selected file contents and metadata needed for backup and recovery, such as file names, paths, sizes, timestamps, identifiers and checksums. It uses locally stored authorization credentials to access Google Drive.
The selected full Drive permission can permit access to other files in an authorized account, including changing or deleting them. A selected backup folder is an operating choice, not a technical restriction on that permission.
This public website does not receive backup contents or authorization credentials.
How information is used
Information is used to create and maintain backup copies, verify their integrity, manage owner-approved retention and recover files. Google API data is used only for the backup and recovery functions the owner has authorized.
The utility does not use backup information for advertising, resale or training AI models. A change to its functions or data use requires an updated notice and applicable owner authorization before use.
Storage and service providers
Backup copies are kept in the local repositories and Google Drive destinations selected by the owner. Restic repositories are encrypted. Ordinary ZIP archives are not inherently encrypted and need appropriate access protection.
Google processes data stored in Google Drive and Google Workspace under its applicable terms and privacy policy. Cloudflare hosts this information website and may process request information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and protect these pages.
This site's code includes no analytics scripts, advertising scripts, sign-in form or contact form. Hosting services may apply their own operational and security controls.
Contact messages
Messages sent to the contact email, including the sender's address and message contents, are stored in a private Google Group for the owner to review. The address is configured to send an automatic acknowledgment. An acknowledgment confirms receipt by the contact system; it is not a promise of a human response by a particular time.
Do not send passwords, recovery codes, private keys or backup files to the contact address.
Retention and removal
Backup retention is controlled by the owner. Retained snapshots and permanent archives follow the owner's backup plan and may remain until the owner approves removal. Contact messages are retained for the owner to handle inquiries and related follow-up, subject to the owner's Workspace settings.
Revoking Google access does not erase existing local or Drive backup copies. Retained data is managed separately by the owner; this website provides no automatic deletion process.
Control over Google access
The owner can review and revoke the utility's access through Google Account connections. Revocation can stop future authorized API access; it does not undo completed backups or remove retained copies.
Security and recovery
Authorization credentials and backup recovery passwords are kept separately from these public pages. Encryption, access controls and recovery procedures reduce risk but do not guarantee that every loss or compromise can be prevented.
